Manual Exposure is a set of exposure calculators for landscape and night photographers, made by George Koultouridis. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
The short version
- No account, no ads, no tracking across apps or websites.
- Your equipment sets, saved calculators and timers stay on your device.
- We collect usage statistics to see which features people use and to fix problems. They are not linked to you, and we don't build profiles.
Data that stays on your device
Equipment sets, saved and running calculators, timers and settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us and are not synced between devices. The widget and the Apple Watch app get the running timer from your iPhone directly.
Equipment catalog
To show the list of cameras, lenses and filters, the app downloads it from our server. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and the request; we don't link this to you and don't keep it longer than needed to run the service.
Usage statistics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect usage statistics: which screens are opened, device model, iOS version, app version, approximate country, and a random app installation ID. This data is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID. We look at it only in aggregate, we don't build profiles of individual users, we don't use it for advertising, and the app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). Google processes this data on our behalf, which may involve servers outside your country, including the United States.
Purchases
The full version is purchased through Apple. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. The app only learns whether the full version has been purchased.
Contacting support
If you email us from the app, the message includes your iOS version to help us understand the problem. We use your email only to reply to you.
Notifications
Timer notifications are created and scheduled on your device. No push notification service is used.
Your choices and rights
You can delete all app data by deleting the app. If you live in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email us.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be included in an app update with a new date above.
